Adventures in Houston

Directly after we came home from Paul's wedding in Utah, we headed down to Houston so that John could start a 6-week internship with a firm there. It was crazy! We drove down on a Sunday and John started working the very next day.

We had a great time, though. We stayed at an apartment complex that was just a mile or so from the Houston Zoo and a giant park, so we got to go to the zoo about twice a week (more pictures to come). Also, Jack got to enjoy the disney channel since we had cable for the first time in two years. It was fun, but I don't want to watch Jake and the Neverland Pirates for a VERY long time.

Houston is the 4th largest city in the United States, so I was afraid it would be extremely overwhelming, but I wasn't as intimidated as I thought I would be. It turns out that the actual downtown area isn't huge, but the Houston city limits are. It stretches out really far. We got to go to see most of the city and eat some really good food, so we were happy. If all goes well, we hope that this firm will offer John a job after law school is over. We're keeping a prayer in our hearts that all goes well and will hopefully hear something in August.
Below are some pics from some of our adventures.

Daddy with crazy sister girl!

Eating a popsicle on the porch. He was so cute I had to take a picture.

Eating Fish 'n' Chips! She loves 'em!

I LOVE this picture. They're strapped in the cart at Target, but I think it looks like they're going on a roller coaster!

Swinging at a park close to the Houston Temple! We got to visit there too!

First time on a swing! She LOVED it!

Scrunchy nose face! (This reminds me of my niece Livvy.)

We also got to see the worlds largest sprinkler while we were there! It was kind of disappointing, but at least we saw it!

Jack made a Choo-Choo train out of boxes and sister was the conducter!

Jack's booty got stuck in one of the boxes.

Riding the train at the park near the zoo. Jack is now OBSESSED with trains. It's all he talks about!
