Well Fall here has been relatively non-existent, and I'm pretty sure the leaves are falling off of the trees because they need water so badly not as an indicator of the change in seasons. It's been a blistering hot summer with record highs in the 90's and 100's. The Fall hasn't changed much either. We just barely got out of the 90s this past week, and are lucky to have a few days in the 70s. I want so badly to put on my snuggly clothes and light a fall-scented candle and drink hot chocolate. Instead though, we're still sporting shorts and t-shirts until the weather decides to change.
We've been busy with a multitude of things at church. I (along with another lady from church) was in charge of planning the ward Halloween carnival.We had visions of grandeur that fizzled only slightly in the end, but I think it all turned out great! We had a LOT of help from amazing ward members willing to serve! Jack had a great time and his claim to fame is that he "ate a donut off a string".
Now...on to Sis-Boom. We have given Amelia the nickname "Sis-Boom", sometimes modified to "Boomer" because she goes from all sweetness to full-blown fit in about 0.8 seconds. Boom! You never know when it's coming, but when it does, watch out! It's actually really funny. So most of the time, it's hard to take her seriously because it is SO dramatic. (Is this how all girls are!?) Jack thinks it is especially funny, and therefore tries hard to make the Boom go off.
By the way, I do not think I've ever mentioned Jacks nickname...Booge, which rhymes with "luge", the winter Olympic sport. He received this as a wee little thing and has kept it. Of course It started as something different and sometimes gets shortened to "boo", but you get the idea.
